Last night I dreamed that I was at my great-aunt's and great-uncle's house and they spoke to me because I had forgotten what their voices sounded like and they didn't want me to forget. And as I was listening I was like "your voices are so familiar to me and so unique, how could I ever forget them". Idk it felt like the were saying hi to me from another place.

And that one thing that I was really missing on that day was a call from my great-aunt or a handwritten card because she'd always find the right words and knew how to make me feel good. Oh how I miss her.

My mom just called. My greatuncle's health is getting worse. He's 96 and they don't expect him to make it much longer. Which was to be expected but still. He's so important to me and he's the last one standing from my grandparent's generation. But I hope he won't have to suffer. And he'll be reunited with his wife again who he misses so dearly and loves so dearly. After all, they had spent more than 70 years together.

A year ago today, my greataunt died. Today, I woke up to snow and it’s still snowy outside. It very rarely snows where I live. Excuse me for getting a little emotional over this because this feels like a sign from up there :’)

My greataunt died on a Sunday in December. The next day at work, one of my children handed me a letter she had written for me over the weekend. It was really emotional and touching. She mentioned how much she cared about me and that I gave her hope and made her laugh and that I was the best teacher. And it was just so touching - the letter itself but also the fact that she gave it to me after I had had such a rough day the day before.
