The first book, Feign, can be pulled off the Wayback Machine. You just need the fic url (which thankfully I had saved).

There are two archive dates: the earlier one goes through chapter 24 and I was able to download directly. The other goes through the end of the first book, but it wouldn’t let me download directly – I used a Chrome browser extension to take full page screenshots (make sure you’re in the ‘Entire Work’ format of Ao3) and then saved those out as a PDF.

As for the sequel... 😭

Unfortunately, Embrace wasn’t archived so it looks like we lost that masterpiece. If anyone happened to download any part of it, lmk – it would really mean a lot to me to have a copy.

As for the art...

I mostly draw with the Procreate app!

I generally like to sketch things out with one of the pencil tools (usually a really messy layer and then I fade the opacity and trace a cleaner version over it). If I’m coloring it, I redo the line art with a really small weight of the medium airbrush brush so it looks less like pencil (I dont love the ink brushes and found airbrush looks less pixelated).

For there just a lot of coloring and shading! I’m way too into highlights so I spend a lot of time on contrast/shine. (I’m also terrible and create a new layer for everything so I have to keep flattening groups when Procreate maxes out on layers, usually realize I still needed one of those layers again and have draw over things again lol)

So I think my process is just drawing over the same thing an unnecessary number of times 😂

I used to love pencil sketches so trying to get back into that but thats generally just a lot of smearing the lead over and over (I use q-tips because I hate getting my hands messy lol) since shading’s the most fun part for me!

Oh man, aside from that merman doodle I haven’t drawn anything in months 😂
