These mini booklets are designed to aid any magician as they explore a cemetery. They can fit inside a pocket, purse, or bag.

The mini-zines are:

Gathering Graveyard Dirt - instructions locating the right grave, respectfully gathering dirt, and storing it.

Cemetery Symbols - a guide for symbols that you often find on gravestones, excluding obvious ones (such as crosses).

Resources for the Cemetery Witch - a hodgepodge of resources for any magician who works in cemeteries. Offerings for the dead, correspondences of graveyard dirt, cemetery trees, and spiritual protection are all covered.

Even though in the spiritual community you always hear someone telling you to be polite with spirits/entities/whatever, APPARENTLY MANY PEOPLE ARE NOT ;-; so dw your hen non binary mom(? is here to teach you basic graveyard etiquette so you don’t piss spirits + protection ^^

- Be respectful... if it’s not obvious

- ASK before entering, LIKE PLEASE PLEASE if its like 3am and there is a rule of actually not going in at that hour... DON’T GO IN. Also you may ask the guardian ( a statue near the gate ) if you can enter or not... if yeah, you’ll know, if not, you’ll know too...

-Ask for permission before taking anything. You knew the person? IDC ASK

-Leave an offering to show you’re not going to do any harm

-Don’t sit on tombstones

-Don’t step on graves

-Don’t make rude comments

-Don’t take dirt without giving anything in return

-Do not photograph graves of the dead

-Speak softly

-NO to mirrors please

-We say yes to offerings

-When you’re home, wash yourself full and everything you brought, even though in graveyards there are a lot of wise spirits, they are probably some negative spirits too.

-Protection sigils in your shoooes

-Wards if doing magic

-Wards even just going in case you piss someoneee

-Just protect yourself pleaseee 

I finally made it back to my favorite grave at my favorite cemetery, with my favorite cemetery tree.  It was two days after a huge rainstorm, everything was green and rather water logged, as far as soil goes.  I left acorns at the grave of Sadie, my favorite grave- it’s hard to describe my relationship to Sadie.  I collected soil (graveyard dirt) at the base of my favorite tree so it would have the energy of the shade, the living things, and the ‘dead’ things-- originally I intended to collect from Sadie’s grave but when I saw several rollie polie bugs (aka pill bugs) I didn’t want to disturb them, so I found a new spot that called to me.  

The tree also gave me plenty of wee sticks and twigs to use in my cemetery dish, I’m planning on making a fence, if I can.  

Still working on the small graveyard.  I used Premo polymer clay to make nine headstones, and nine glass beads to make nine bodies to bury.  I’ll be getting soil for it soon- and by soil, I mean I’ll be going to my favorite spot in my favorite graveyard to get some graveyard dirt so that it feels like home.  

The headstones were made mostly with granite, black, pearl, white, and sienna brown(i think?) colors, every stone with a granite base.  I also used that black with gold glitter clay in a few toward the end, you can see it in the brown headstone (meant to be copper, but I didn’t have copper clay).  

The next part of my small project was to include decor.  I thought of painting the moon phases along the edge but I couldn’t find a paintbrush small enough for that detail work (obvious by my attempt at keys with my rather clunky brush).  Instead, I got a few glass beads I had left over from previous projects; so far, I’ve spent maybe $4 total on this project -paint cost estimated in.  I painted them in the phases and then glued them paint-and-flat-side-down, so looking down they’re rather lovely, yea?  Then I added my doorway of mysteries with its wee keyhole (which was a small challenge, the keys didn't turn out nearly as well).  The rim was made with a combination of red, white, and black paint to make a nice tinted gray that gives it a nice rough, chaotic barrier- both positive to who it protects and threatening to those who would cross.
