Some more of those creature design commissions from my vgen 💚

Something not okali-related for once, but i've recently opened comms up on vgen! check it out if you want, i do custom creature designs like the drawings above, and also backgrounds, etc. rn im kinda rotating the services around until i can get verified and get them unlimited but feel free to ask for custom stuff :)

A species of blep from cold steppes. Like most species of furred tetrapods, it keeps its young in a pouch for months until they are hardy enough to run about and eat solid food. It eats lichens, roots and mosses primarily, but is an opportunistic scavenger if those prove scarce. It lives in groups of variable sizes, with complex familial dynamics, but these groups can be spread out over great distances; they communicate by loud bellows that cover long distances despite great winds.

The fallen-star alarikti dwells in leaf litter, rarely flying and preferring to hunt on the ground for its larva's meal; a ground beetle.

The Kadez is a medium-sized river chelicerate, living in particularly pure, well-oxygenated streams. It tolerates very cold temperatures and as such is often found in mountain streams. They turn over pebbles with their legs in search of small invertebrates, roe, and other small prey to eat. It is quite an active creature, and in areas where they are abundant, they'll often come up onto land for other food sources. That said, they are quite skittish, and surprisingly fast -especially underwater-, so it isn't always easy to approach them.

In the dead of winter, some flowers still grow, using the magic stored in their roots to shine through the endless night. Curious creatures approach them and carry their pollen on their breath and in their whiskers. The small ones may get a nectar treat for their work, and yet bigger ones stay just as fascinated by the phenomenon.

In the Rain Ravine towns, it's very common, particularly for Karktosu, to wear fancy mane covers, made of thin ropes woven into pretty shapes, with glass pieces beaded throughout. They serve to hold down the mane of those who let it grow long, and can also generally be a fashion statement. It's not uncommon for them the be passed down through a family and modified many times by the wearer to change or add patterns. In areas closer to the sea, they may be worn with a cloth that completely covers the mane underneath, protecting it from damage from salty air while out and about.
