just finished this short video essay/documentary about a manu chao album and i pretty much enjoyed it all and i think im gonna listen to the album but like towards the end the essayist pulled the "back in the millennium era when people were actually hopeful about the future, unlike today" acting like it was crazy to talk about some issue in pop music or smth (and im assuming this is pre-2001 but either way) and then also kinda pulled the "music is a universal language" card which isnt too abhorrent but its pretty cliché and not true sooo
