I had never drawn team Star Fox despite being a years long fan before this piece.

Star Fox themselves are pretty standard, but I'm starting to define the differences between the different types of animals a little better (which is why Krystal looks a little different in the 1st drawing). I made Tricky and anthro dinosaur to fit in a little better with the rest of the universe.

I wanted the characters to be a little more grounded in reality in their colors and designs. Amanda is a pink green eyed tree frog, which is why she looks vastly different, and Lucy is darker to give her a more realistic color scheme to a hare. I wanted the Angler Emperor to look more akin to a real angler fish, and in doing that I also made them a woman.

The rest are pretty standard after that. Now onto Star Wolf and Andross' Empire:

In order we have the different Star Fox 64 bosses; Granga, Xerxes, Vilmir, Bennet, Benjamin, Sub Captain, Caiman, and Forrestt. You can find a bit more info about them here.

Below them is Dash, who's really only there bc he's related to Andross; Andross himself, Krystal, and Blair.

Then we have Algy, Katrina, Wolf O'Donnell, and Clove.

Of all the Star Fox pieces I did last summer, this one is the biggest and certainly one of my favourites. The various representatives/lieutenants/bosses of Andross’ empire as seen in Star Fox 64 and Zero.

This was such a fun one to work on, trying to portray the different personalities of each pilot or lieutenant from what little the games showed of them, as well as sprinkling in a few extra details of my own. The primates were so much fun, they’re my wife’s favourites (Granga especially) so I had to do them all justice. I’ve seen several interpretations of them where they have mechanical eyes/visors built into their faces, while I prefer the idea that their glowing eyes are a stylistic choice and they have regular eyes underneath their helmets. Benjamin proved to be a challenge in this regard, so I just have the brim of his engineers cap obscuring his eyes.

In regards to my last post, I have in fact, never posted purple Gil! Time to fix that.

The drawing is from a set of images primarily from December 13th (Gil was drawn on the 14th) 2019, where I used arbitrary colors to draw each character. I remember I definitely drew Granga and Goras with my younger sister, I think that may be the case with all 4 pics, even.

As these images are quite old, Gil’s design (and Granga’s) is a little outdated. Nothing hugely different though. Mostly changes in facial features and silhouettes.
