I bought a Rega Planar 3 in Edinburgh in 1984 together with a NAD 7140 receiver and used my newly designed Microphase SATs as speakers…
Over the years it has been fitted with various cartridges including Shure SC35C, Ortofon 2M Red and my preference today is a GRADO Prestige Green.
Late last year, the motor finally gave up and I upgraded it to the newest kit available, which is the new 24V motor and electronics.

Note my vintage and rare Barney Oliver integrated amplifier. Only 400 units were built by Hewlett-Packard employees and designed by the head of HP Labs in 1972, hence the name... Mine is number 356. The phono section is just amazing. It was originally optimised for the Shure V15, but works wonders with my Grado.
