Last Wednesday, while we were in Las Vegas, @aloya319 and I got to train in a seminar taught by the @pit_master ... Mr. John Hackleman himself. He’s a total badass, but he’s also got a great sense of humor. While we were getting in position for this picture, he said, “You guys are kempo with an m. I like kempo with an m more than kenpo with an n. I’m kempo with an m too.” As I understand it, Mr. Hackleman started with kanukenbo, and used it for the foundation to his art of Hawaiian Kempo. Kajukenbo heavily influenced Guardian Kempo, the art that Andrea and I teach and have studied for the last 14 years.
