Puget Sound in better weather! Green and summery! I got a new magenta that I worked in there too and I love it. This is acrylic ink and acryla gouache on @stillmanandbirn zeta paper. I’m realizing that acrylic ink can be great for things like sky and water, where you want really sheer, luminous color. Then acryla gouache layers over it beautifully. This time, I just dropped a little ink on the same paper palette I used for the paint, and ended up mixing it in to other colors. More fun with acryla gouache. This was so satisfying to paint. I love how easy it is to shift colors or just move elements around with an opaque paint that dries quickly. I’ve been wanting to do some larger paintings, maybe in acrylic (egads, not another new medium!) but I quickly realized that behind every big painting is a series of small paintings in preparation.
