Isaiah 56 part 1
Keeping the Sabbath is definitely pleasing to the LORD. Based on verses 1-8, keeping the Sabbath is equated to holding fast His covenant and choosing the things that please Him. Whether you are Jew or Gentile, the general statement here seems to be "Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who holds it fast, who keeps the Sabbath, not profaning it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil."Â
This part of the chapter also shows how inviting God is. "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples". God is not exclusive, but when you become part of God's family, you are exclusive. As mentioned in verse 5, when God includes someone into His family, He will give them a monument and a name better than sons and daughters. That be cray cray.Â
