I'm not an idiot. He didn't love me. He didn't want me. He danced with me because he was kind, and didn't want to see me hurt. He saved me from being a joke... from that day, until his last day. And I couldn't save him in return. Nothing's more hateful than failing to protect the one you love.

What constitutes "participating in the abuse of another character" in your opinion? Not mentioning Jeyne Poole in every single Sansa post? Because that's the worst I've seen anyone do. Do we have to clarify in every post we make on the subject that yes, it was just as horrible when it happened to Jeyne, otherwise we're abusing her? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm truly asking. I honestly think it's understood by everyone that what happened to Jeyne was horrific. We're not trying to erase her.
No, I donât honestly think that you have to mention her in every single post, and I agree that most people are aware that what happens to Jeyne is horrifying.  However Iâve seen a number of people complain that âthis is supposed to be Jeyne Pooleâs storyline.â  (Or, worse phrasing, âThis is supposed to be happening to Jeyne Poole.â)  Which is true in book canon, but that phrasing is really really really gross.Â
So I guess my thought is not to do that, and that if youâre going into larger reactions and ruminations of the showâs changes, donât forget Jeyne and donât mistreat her in your discourse. Â
Margaery and her gal pals laughing in the background as Cersei walked angrily away from was so fucking good and idek y but that was honestly my favorite part of the episode
Hi Celia! I have a question for you since you are an expert with the stark girls. Do you think book!sansa would react the same way as show!sansa? Would she agree with it? Do you think book!petyr would think it was smart to work with boltons? Sorry for badgering you with question but i think this arc was too far fetched
Iâd hardly call myself an expert, but thank you :) And youâre def not badgering me with questions.  I think weâre all kind of chewing on this right now and going âhmmmmm.âÂ
Iâm going to break your questions up and try and answer them each in turn.
Do you think book!sansa would react the same way as show!sansa? Would she agree with it?
So, my gut instinct to this was no (because anger @ plotline), but the more I think about it, I actually think itâs possible she would.  Naturally, you have to pretend that this scenario is ârealâ for Sansaâs characters in the book, which the release of the Alayne Chapter pretty much says lolnope to.  But, letâs for a moment pretend.
Her reaction in this weekâs episode was basically âThese people betrayed my brother and mother, they have my home and youâre selling me to them for what purpose?â  And I think that thatâs a visceral reaction that Sansa would have had in the books as well.  She took such strength from Robbâs defiance while she was in Kingâs Landing, and constantly was inspired by her mother that I canât really see how she wouldnât be horrified at the concept of marrying one of the Boltons.Â
As to the extent to which sheâd succumb to Middlefingerâs plans...Iâm not sure.  I donât think sheâs at a point of being able to out-gambit him by any means, which already has me nervous.  For all she seems to have more agency and confidence in the books, I donât actually see her as being completely independent of him.  I mean, looking at that TWOW chapter, he tells her to seduce Harry, and sheâs really uncomfortable with it on several levels, but she does it anyway.  (My view of that chapter is that Sansa is more wary, definitely, but more wary of others, not necessarily of Petyr.)  But no matter what, sheâs not in control of the situation--Petyr is, and sheâll resist or not as she can.  So that rings true a little bit in this episode as well--Sansa will resist internally, but she canât resist externally.  What will that win her?  Sheâs not really got choice.  (Itâs not agency if you donât have choice!)  Sansa putting on a face and being charming and making people think sheâs fine--thatâs how she survived in Kingâs Landing to some extent. Â
So I donât think it would look identical, per se, but Iâm not wholly convinced itâs entirely out of character. Â Weâll see how it continues to play, I suppose.
Do you think book!petyr would think it was smart to work with boltons?
No.  I donât.  Iâm 100% sure that Book!Petyr wouldnât take that sort of gamble.  My biggest frustration with mustache-twirling Baelish as he is on the show is that they have him pretty much characterized as a pimp and a gambler.  Which, I mean, he is all those things, but heâs also someone who doesnât leave things up to chance.  He plans everything so wildly meticulously that it may look as though heâs gambling, but I really donât think he is. Â
Itâs a really dumb-ass move on his part, tbh, especially given the way that he and Roose interacted where Roose pretty much ended up beasting him. Â I mean, I donât see that as being in-character for book!Roose either, per se, but I canât fathom Baelish putting himself in a situation where that might even begin to happen.
That said, I think itâs important to remember that he is, to some extent, involved in the Bolton plot in the books as well: it was in his brothel that Jeyne Poole was forced into sex slavery to begin with.  So heâs not necessarily an active player, but heâs got some involvement there.  Certainly not the same level of involvement as bringing Sansa to Winterfell.  (I suppose this is my quiet reminder that even though Jeyne isnât on the show--AU in which sheâs on a beach drinking mojitos--that doesnât mean that she wasnât horrifically abused and we should be careful when discussing this plotline so as not to belittle that experience.)
