I think in a rewrite I would have Firestar and Morningflower be actual friends. In Starclan they gossip quite a lot. Gorsepaw calls Firestar "uncle" and that tugs at his heartstrings lol.

For my designs, Firestar is a more "deep" ginger. He's red based. Gorsepaw is a sunset ginger (a term I just made up) where he's more yellow based. He's also a tabby, while Firestar isn't. Tigerclaw killed Gorsepaw since, even though Gorsepaw didn't look exactly like Firestar, it would still be a threat on Firestar's life via killing another ginger. Poor kid.
To me (the rest of this paragraph is headcanon), Gorsepaw was Morningflower's only kit (those random kits do not exist). She was infertile, but Gorsepaw was her little miracle! She was so happy when she had him, and even more devastated when Tigerstar killed him in coldblood. Due to the support of her clanmates (and Firestar and Sandstorm), she was able to move on and have a happy life until she died in-between the 3rd and 4th arc. In Starclan she spends a lot of time with Gorsepaw to catch up on lost time. :')
