My favorite number is the googolplex. It's a 1 followed by a googol (10¹⁰⁰) zeros. For better understanding, tell me- How many zeroes does 10¹ have? 1. What about 10³? 3 zeroes. 10⁶? 6 zeroes. That's a million. So 10¹⁰⁰? Googol. So 10 raised to the power a googol?..... a googolplex.
That's a huge number. Huge. One more reference- there are 10⁸⁰ atoms in the observable universe. If I were to try and write down a googolplex on paper and pen, it would cause the earth to crumble in on itself. Because the weight of the paper, the weight of the physical number; is greater than the mass of earth.
Don't believe? Let's say one book has a 100 pages. Each page contains a 100 zeros. One book thus contains 10^4 zeroes. We need 10^100. Dividing both, we get a grand total of 10⁹⁶ . Let's say one page is 1 Gram. So the book's weight is 100 gram. So 10⁹⁸ grams, 10⁹⁵ kilograms. That's the weight of the book, not counting hardcover or binding and stuff. For reference(again) that's greater than the weight of every FRICKIN STAR in the observable universe!!!!!!! Almost a 100 billion light years worth of stars dude!!!!! Our universe would topple under all that! (It wouldn't, since the actual size of the universe could very well be infinite but u get my point)
If you search on the internet for googolplex digital written down, you'll get the result "googolplex written out" website which has over a 1000 volumes of just pure zeroes. You might think that's huge, (and it is,) but 'tis but a dust mote of the actual number. And yet, the googolplex is pitifully small in front of what could be... u could whip out a number that is a googolplex raised to the power googolplex raised to the power googolplex raised-------(x infinity) and there would still be a number bigger.
And yet, this insignificant digit is the favorite number of someone. How poetic?

Ok so I’ve had this obsession for some time of contemplating concepts that are difficult to truly understand the magnitude of, like the size of the universe, or an eternity of time. In that obsession I’ve been thinking about the number googolplex, and whether it’s possible to write it down, the full number, so we can really start grasping how enormous of a number it is.
To refresh your mind of what a googolplex is, it is a one followed by a googol of zeros, and a googol is a one followed by a hundred zeros. In number form a googol looks like this: 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
Knowing that, I tried to think about what a googolplex would look like written down, but as you can imagine, it’s very hard to try and think about what a number like that would look like written down so then I thought ‘what if someone did try to write it down?’
So I tried to do that, and very quickly realized just how big googolplex is and that I did not have the drive nor the resources to write it down.
What I did to figure this out? I opened up a page in procreate, edited the canvas size, wrote a one, then ten zeros, and copy pasted those zeros several times. The Result?

There are only two hundred thousand zeros on this page. That’s a lot of zeros, but it is nowhere near a googol of zeros. If I printed this page two hundred thousand times, I would only have forty billion zeros (40,000,000,000). Imagine two hundred thousand pages of this laid side to side on standard sheets of paper. I don’t know how many times I’d have to print this page to get to a googol of zeros, and that lack of knowledge will haunt me until someone more proficient at math than I comes along to tell me. Regardless, that’s a metric fuckton of zeros and I’m afraid.
Moral of the story? Googolplex is massive, infinity is fucktouple that size, and we live less than a micro fraction of that time so do what makes you happy because this is all we’ve got.
being autistic and an ex proofreader means pointing out to linguistics youtubers that you can't say "a googol is a one followed by a hundred zeros" and then use a graphic like

because a googol would have to be written
10,000,000,000,
because zeros in multiples of 3 makes the first one only 99 zeros (or another multiple of 3) - but you could have a "long googol" that's a one followed by 120 zeros (we learned in their video that long and short numbers are a thing, so full circle innit)
on google.com you can look up so many things to your hearts desire. and NOBODYS talking about it!
