Delirium and Destruction in Endless Nights is one of my favourite parts. Have you written about that one? I think I like those two both better than Dream, Death or Desire, though that may say more about me than about the comics. (Also I struggled with Barry Sloane as Destruction until I started thinking of him as trans!Destruction, and then he was perfect.)
Do you mean their individual stories in Endless Nights or the fact that Destruction is taking care of Delirium in āOn the Peninsulaā? Well, I guess that one and āGoing Insideā are connected anyway, since one basically latches on where the other left off.
I think I mentioned both stories in passing in other contexts, but I havenāt written separate meta about them (but I will when the reread gets there). It just shows their relationship so beautifully, and no matter what Destruction says: itās a constant for him as well. I also liked the fact that āOn the Peninsulaā implies that he might have reconciled with his siblings in some way, even if he didnāt necessarily take up his function again. But ātheyā asked him to take care of her for a while. I wonder if it was mainly Daniel!Dream, because the door between those two definitely stayed open at the end of theāThe Wakeā.
I always liked Destruction and Delirium more than the other siblings (bar Dream) on a purely vibes-based level. More than fan-favourite Deathāit was always a funny one for me because I think that conceptually, she is important (probably the most important one in the context of Dream, and consistently over all arcsāI guess thatās the main reason why I write about her quite a bit, too). I also got why she did well as a standalone/spinoff character. But I never *loved* her, while I definitely loved Destruction and Delirium (and I always felt pretty alone with saying that Destruction is one of my faves š¤£). But yeah, itās personal, and I guess it also depends on how we, as individuals, look at stories and whatās important to us. And Destruction, Delirium and Dream all personify change and/or growth to me. And not fitting in (in three different ways), but thatās a different topic altogetherā¦
Barry as Destruction was okay. I neither loved him nor hated him, he was justā¦ there? šš¤£ I liked him a lot better than Esme as Delirium though. She really wasnāt for me, and I fear thatās not the most popular opinion. I donāt think itās her fault though, it was the script and direction. She was justā¦ scatterbrained and depressed in the show, and I feel thatās not really all there is to her. But again, just how I see it, and I donāt expect people to see it the same way.
