How is yuri cute though? She’s so mean, vile and vulgar…

I think her design is cute (I have a weakness for smallish eyebrows) but yeah, she’s the “brutal, mean and rude” kind of character.

Her personality is the result from Capcom’s crappy job at story and characters, they gave her a tragic past that made her struggle and a reason for being against Shaladoo and Bison, but she ends up turning into a malicious character without any actual reason. They just made her “evil” because it would be a “different”.

Can’t really expect a complex and overarching story in a fighting game, sure, but it irks me the wasted potential from her character. The UDON comic, giving a peek into her past, made me feel a lot for her (She struggles learning TKD and her family is kinda strict, but she’s hopeful and doesn’t give up) but then they screwed it up by making her bratty after the death of her parents.

Instead of really trying to set up why she’s “evil”, it’s just a 180° from a simple girl with what I assume has some sense of justice (His dad being a lawyer) to a maniac that is bad and evil just because. There’s no growth in her character nor any intent in giving some. It’s not that hard, Capcom!
