"I got it! I can heal other people, I know I can Shoko!"
It was rare to catch a glimpse of Satoru these days, so engrossed in his studies and endless practical explorations of spells new and old. He made progress frighteningly quick, popping up in his friends' lives only to show off progress, ask for critique and any guidance that required their particular expertise, then vanish again under an increasingly impossible work schedule, almost all free time spent on the obsession over his own growth.
So maybe it didn't come as that big of a surprise when he barged into Shoko's workplace with an excited look on his face, so obvious even with his eyes obscured.
"Let me practise on your next patient." There was a wildness to his voice, riding the high of a new breakthrough and understanding that he still held so clearly within his cupped palms but it was leaking away by the second if he did not get to apply it.
