''I hope I got the right one,'' he started, laying the dress out on the inn bed, smoothing it carefully over--- it was pretty, seemed like it'd suit Sadie, ''I, uh, I hope I got the right size too. I jus' seen you eyein' it.''
the moment they returned to the moderate comfort on their inn room, Sadie made her way straight to their shared bed, eagerly kicking off her boots. sheâs never been one to tire quickly but with the added weight on her body and the growing child in her womb, itâs been tough walking around the town all day. sheâd been stubborn, though. Giles assured her she could stay and wait for him in the inn if she wanted to, but she insisted on coming along with him. itâd been nice, though. they were able to buy the things they needed to get and Sadie had enjoyed window shopping the clothing store. she didnât buy anything, not because of lack of money but because she knows in a month or so whatever she buys wonât fit her any longer. but a certain dress caught her attentionâ sunflower yellow, buttons running down the chest and loose, comfortable sleeves. it was tempting to buy it but she ended up not doing so. she hadnât expected Giles to go through with it, though.
âGilesâ sweetheart, you didnât have to. oh, it ainât gonna fit me in a month or so,â she says with a flustered smile, picking the dress up and holding it over her figure. from the looks of it, it seems like itâll fit well. folding it over her elbow, she moves onto her tip-toes to kiss her manâs cheek, gratitude visible in her eyes. âthank you, baby. here, help me put it on?â
