I'm so proud of us. We worked so hard this year and were more frugal. We were able to plan a family vacation to Legoland Ca for our daughter's 10th bday coming up this weekend! This is our third vacation as a family 🥰 When we officially booked it, we told her that we would be going on a trip for her birthday but that's it, so she's been slowly getting hints over the last month or so about where it is/what kind of stuff we'd be doing like • lots of walking • there will be swimming • its out of state • none of us have been there before • Then on sunday we finally gave her the big reveal

Dad ordered her this really cool scratch off golden ticket that says where she's going underneath the gold bar 😁 She was so excited, I mean of course it's no Disneyland but she was still very thankful. DL is still very much out of our budget, but hopefully one day we can take her 🙏🏼 Legoland is known for being really good with autistic children, so we felt like it's a pretty good theme park to start with since her brother is level 3, meaning he requires help for most things and needs certain accommodations. Plus our daughter really loves building Legos, we even went to a local Lego convention a year or 2 ago and we all had a great time.

We are staying at the Legoland hotel too! (She doesn't know that part 🤪) It was obviously a lot more expensive than staying at a different nearby hotel but the convenience is going to be so worth it, especially for our son. We got connecting bungee bracelets for us to wear that connect to our son so he can't elope (run off) and bringing a stroller for him too. We're packing all his preferred snacks and hopefully we'll be getting (free) fast passes.

Oh and my dad, his gf and her nephew are going to be meeting us there and staying at the hotel as well! I don't know how close their room will be to ours, but still pretty cool - another surprise she doesn't know about 💝 And as for her birthday gifts, she will be opening a lot of them during the road trip so she can wear/use them while we're there.

We're driving back Sunday, but we might stop at the beach for a bit first if we're not totally worn down lol. We also have not mentioned this just in case that happens.. You learn early in parenthood that if you say you're going to do something you better do it 😆

Then on Monday, since it's a holiday and there will be no school, we are inviting a few of her friends over for cake and maybe the swimming pool if their parents want to stay and supervise (cause ain't nobody's kids going to die under MY watch 🥴) she wants a 5 nights at Freddys themed cake, so stay tuned to see what I come up with next week 🐻🦊🐰🐥🧁

And that's how we are celebrating her big double digit birthday 🥹 her childhood and my childhood are sooo different and I'm so proud of that.. we did tell her not to expect anything like this for quite some time 🤣 next big bday will be her sweet 16 🫠 but i'm sure we'll do something big for our son's tenth in three years when she's 13 too. Maybe DL or a cruise! Or a DL cruise??
