Thanks to my friend @polutrope who tagged me to share my favorite lines of my 10 most recent fics. That was surprisingly easy to find, and here they are:
Far over land and sea (M, 11.2k, Maglor & SoF, Maglor & The Song)
He had felt, in the seconds that followed its aftermath, a vibration that shook him to the bones, a permanent ringing in his ears that only he, apparently, could hear; as though a chord from the Great Song had been irrevocably changed. A string that snapped and couldnât be repaired.
Secrecy (G, 397 words, Fëanor & Curufin)
He felt something over his shoulder. A presence both soothing and strong-willed, demanding attention. He didnât have to look back to see who it was, for this fĂ«a glowed a rich dark crimson, very similar to his own.
The Hunter (G, 300 words, Celegorm & The Woods)
Celegormâs Song rose to a crescendo. He cut his palm and smeared two stripes of blood over his cheek.
Narrow escape (G, 430 words, HĂșrin & Huor, HĂșrin & Morwen)
âYes⊠you know how the Elves are! They see you in rags and immediately start pushing clean clothes onto you. It's an offense to turn them down!â
Bedtime stories (G, 309, ThĂ©odred & Ăomer & Ăowyn)
âBut if sheâs a witch and a queen, she could fly if she wanted to!â The little girl raised her chin in defiance.
Retribution (M, 800 words, Fëanor/Fingolfin)
âI am glad that Morgoth has not killed you,â NolofinwĂ« continues, paying attention to how FĂ«anĂĄroâs face twists in surprise. âHe has left you to deal with me.â
Begin again (M, 4k, Fëanor/Fingolfin)
When he realized what was happening, his eyes were fixed on FĂ«anĂĄroâs lips, his thoughts bent in one thing only: to kiss him until he lost his senses; to devour the breath that burned his sanity and broke his heart.
Tendrils (G, 1k, Fëanor & Finwë & Siblings and Fëanor/Fingolfin)
He wanted to pull ĂolofinwĂ« closer, investigate the specks of light blue that dance in his iris, and, as this thought formed in his mind, his half-brother closed the distance between them and kissed his mouth.Â
The skilled and the steadfast (G, 5.2k, young Fëanor & child Fingolfin)
âAtar does that.â NolofinwĂ« stared into FĂ«anĂĄroâs eyes with no fear or remorse. âPeople talk to him and he answers. Everyone likes Atar.â
Of the Sun and Moon (G, 434 words, Tilion &/Arien)
They could either choose to be the new bringers of the light made by the Gods and awaken the Secondborn, and thus be forever sundered, or they could remain together, yet in eternal darkness. The choice was dire yet it had to be made.
I think almost everyone in this blog has been tagged already but calling upon @spiced-wine-fic @naryaflame @grundyscribbling @lathalea and @i-did-not-mean-to if you want to share yours! :)
