I’ve had a few people ask how Gniblet is able to talk/gnome people ! While initially kept this part of his creation a secret to most, i documented the Installation of this feature !

Here’s Gniblet in an unfinished state. Next to his hat you can see a little module ... that’s his voice box !

I ordered it from amazon - it’s one where you can record your own audio !

The extremely scientific method :

Turn up laptop speakers very loud

Press play

Record on voice module

It was a bit harder then that , actually - the module kept recording the sound of its button clicking when I was finished recording so I had to figure out a way to make it quieter. Thankfully the device lets you re-record as much as you like and I finally figured out a way to reduce the button’s noise.

I wanted the module to stay put in Gniblet and also stay clean of any stray stuffing that could possibly hurt/break the module so I sewed a simple pouch for it!

It was then attached to the top of the inside of Gniblet’s head, with the button facing up. That way the button is out of the way enough to reduce accidental gnomings but still be easily accessible !

I soon learned I installed this feature a bit sooner than I should have , because with the constant reversing of the plush for the arm and tail installation, the button was accidentally pushed many times , leading to lots of unintentional gnomings as I worked. Oh, Gniblet, you rapscallion!

I’ve been busy with other stuff so I haven’t had a chance to really sit down and work on Gniblet. But I have made a little progress!

Oh wait, it’s Ears! I was able to reuse the ear wire from Gniblet’s original buddy form.

A man with one ear. I had to leave Gniblet like this for a few days due to me Needing To Do Things.

Today , though , I finished attaching his other ear! I was really worried about placing them but I’m happy with how it looks !

Gniblet is now drying and in the meantime I prepped the gnome body ....

The eyes and flesh colored bits have been removed , to be replaced with Gniblet’s furby parts !
