#gnome throwing

So I was playing D&D the other day and I saw a thing play out that is always joked about. So the Goliath Bart has started carrying around the Gnome Artillerist, whos weapon was a magic flamethrower, on his shoulders so as to create a mobile flame throwing platform. It was a Christmas based one shot so we were in Santa’s workshop trying to stop an evil ice wizzard from stopping Christmas or something, so Santa’s workshop was filled with evil Snow golems and snow constructs and snowmen, so our flame throwing duo was having a blast because fire kills snow really well, but then it happened.

We were fighting 2 Snow golems, my character was next to one of them and another player was next to the other and the flamethrower duos turn had come around, the Goliath had moved as far as he could however both snow golems were still out of range of the Flamethrower so they concocted a plan he would lob the Gnone who would then fire his flame thrower, and hit both snow golems and miss the players, a perfect plan, the Goliath passed his strength check to lob the Gnome but the Gnome Failed his Acrobatics check to stay stable, so the Gnome is now Spiraling through the air when they fire the flamethrower the DM says the fire will hit one of the two groups of combatants, both of which have a player next to them the DM rolled and luckily it wasn’t me who was hit however the player shows hit was knocked down to 7 Hp. Then the gnome ended his flight by slamming into a wall.
