Who are these strangers? Well, I’ll discuss the finer details under the cut but these are friends of the show - So to speak. GoldMoney and Whimsy’s Fate are MLP AUs written by friend’s of Promised Night’s authors. (Or by two of us in the case of Whimsy’s Fate!) A nonzero amount of jokes have been made about us being the SuperWhoLock of MLP AUs, so why don’t you check them out!

GoldMoney, found here @goldmoneyuniverse, is a roleplay hosted on Ponytown with both closed narrative focused sessions and open sessions where your OCs and the larger world can really shine. The narrative in question is something of a gay soap opera, with a compelling cast of rotating characters that are all more miserable than the last. Murder, intrigue, and affairs all await you, future Watcher. Meet the authors in MLP Alley in Ponytown sometimes and pick their brains! (Location on Map is Under The Cut!)

Whimsy’s Fate, found here @whimsysfate, is a from the ground up rework of MLP canon with expansive lore and many character creation resources. Whimsy’s Fate is a high fantasy world, with multiple detailed magic systems as well as unique cultures and political structures for each of our species! Wolfe and I are the authors of this AU, and we have carefully crafted a map, wiki, main cast, and upcoming webcomic for your enjoyment!

Also easy pick once again. Fitting to em Doctor Who Nerdism outta which base Myrr and I crafted a good chunk of em punchlines in An Ideal Brother, we started putting Pans in connection with the Bad Wolf - and also kinda wolf-themed the crap outta the guy :P

So yeah, we kinda made sure, the prompt's tailored for him. :D

I don’t know if I have the following on this website to promote something like this, but I’m going to try.

I’m the editor of a forthcoming anthology featuring the work of writers with disabilities. Living with multiple disabilities myself, this is incredibly important to me, and I really want to be able to curate an incredible collection of work that showcases a diverse range of perspectives across fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and hybrid or experimental work. There are word count limits in our submission guidelines linked above. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this project, we can’t accept every submitted piece, but we want the opportunity to review everything people will send our way! If your piece isn’t accepted, know it is not a reflection on yourself as a writer or the quality of the work. I’m trying really hard to cultivate a variety of perspectives, and it’s possible we’ll get a lot of work that skews towards one perspective or another, in which case we won’t be able to feature everything.

What does this mean? Well submissions are open through 5/31/2021. We accept submissions through Submittable, and all information can be found on our website above, but if you have any questions please feel free to contact me or the press directly. We charge a nominative $5 fee to cover our Submittable expenses, but if you cannot afford this, please do not hesitate to ask for a fee waiver. We will gladly grant it.

What else? All accepted authors will receive six free copies of the completed anthology when it is released in 2022, and some free goodies. I’m working on securing promises of payment from our press, but that has turned into a lengthier conversation, hence why there is no promise of payment currently in our guidelines. I’m going to bat for our authors, but this is work in progress.

WGI announced today that all World Championships would be cancelled. This is unprecedented.

I cried my entire hour-long commute home. Uncontrollable sobbing. Because of how horrible this lack of closure is. There is no rescheduling, no later competition that we could still perform at. Our season, which began back in October, is done. Every single colorguard group’s season is done. No “one last run”, no “home show”, no “circuit championship”. Nothing.

Noone’s show was truly done. Noone’s story finished. Hundreds of productions that have been in creation since October, are now relegated to history without ever culminating in a final product.

We still had so far to grow and now no one will get to experience any of these productions again. Sure we have videos, but no one will ever get to see them in person and feel the electricity in the room.

It brings a cold stark reality to the common adage, “perform like it’s your last time”. Because it was the last time, even though none of us knew it.

Some of us will return with over abundant vigor because we can’t leave it this way. Others may be too hurt to ever come back. And others still were on their last season and will never get the opportunity again.
