Very early stage. Experimenting here by not having the background color under either of the color domes. Hoping perhaps the domes will seem brighter that way.
I have an opening tomorrow at Strecker Nelson West gallery, which will be showing some of my landscape paintings. If you are anywhere near Manhattan, Kansas around 5pm, come by and say “Hi!”. Here’s a few of the paintings on view.

“The Gates Of Asclepius - Five and Six”, 11 in x 15in, watercolor on Arches paper.
After consultation with Hilary, the manager at my gallery, we decided to do two more sketches with less blue. We meet with the client on Saturday.
Fingers crossed.

“Combustion After Clarity”, 48in x 48in, oil on canvas.
Still in the early stages. Upper yellow needs to be smaller, the lower pink, larger. And probably some variation in the middle space. The allover color is feeling a bit dead.

Various Duettes, 9in x 9in, pastel on BFK Rives paper.
I’ve got a nice box of Rembrandt pastels in my desk drawer that I rarely touch. I loved using pastels in high school and early college, but then I got all caught up in learning airbrush, and the pastels collected dust.
I decided to play with them this evening. Nothing fancy, but I did have fun wearing out my fingertips blending like a madman.

“Euphoria After Petrichor”, 36in x 36in, oil on panel.
I’ve got a solid base layer here, after 19 colors laid down. Now the color transitions begin…
Jamming to Isaac Hayes “Shaft” and also some Beautiful South.
