Why didn't the glee club just charge a club fee to participate?
Like Principal Figgins tells Mr. Schuester that he needs $60 a month to keep the club. (Season 1)
If we assume that the school year runs for 10 months (Aug-May) that's $600 to keep the club open all year.
The club typically keeps 12 members when fully active, once all the main cast joins. That puts the price per student at $50 a year.
Giving the students a monthly rate of $5/month to keep their club. Like Will could have covered the cost for the first few months as he tried to get members but once they got 12+?
Just saying, every extracurricular I have ever been in has had some sort of participation fee, especially if it had gear/equipment/costumes needed.
I know it was probably just to add the tension in Will's marriage and the pressure to win, but did nobody think to have that be the solution to the financial situation? I mean there were several episodes where the club was raising money for things like Artie's wheelchair accessible bus, they could have had a bake sale to keep the club afloat too.

It's disability pride month and I'm gonna call out the glee fandom. I think a lot of Artie hate is based in ableism, even if it's not intentional. Artie is not much worse than any of the other glee guys, lets be real most if not all of them are misogynistic, players and kind of assholes. I myself don't even really like Artie and I'll stand by that but I don't actively hate him like a lot of the fandom does and I think not liking him is entirely valid; I just also think you should look into his actions vs your favourites actions and see how he's not much worse, if any worse at all and maybe unpack that and you're unintentional ableism. I don't care if I seem like "the guy who's too woke" I think my point is important so here I am making it.
