karlach's answer was going to be fondly wrapped up in the company and affection she was never going to turn down after being intensely lonely in avernus. WHAT SHE WASN'T EXPECTING ACTUALLY WAS UNTETHERED PHYSICAL AFFECTION . oh, she's so touch-starved, she can't even stop that goofy, little grin that just curls the corner of her mouth. ONE SHARP CANINE APPEARING FROM UNDER LIPS . karlach's arm wrapping around grier's waist was just automatic to give her leverage, of course. what wasn't particularly automatic from being polite and caring was karlach's head dipping down. ADJUSTING SO THE GOOD HORN DOESN'T GET IN THE WAY . which ultimately means karlach's face was planted right in grier's chest.

not quite in between grier's breasts though, situated just below collarbone, of course.

valor finds himself awake at an odd hour, though it isn't so odd for him to be unable to sleep. even without his unwanted passenger, slumber never quite agreed with him. his meditation often broke over the slightest of sound. and sometimes, there need not be anything occurring at all for him to find himself staring up at the ceiling.

he's mid undressing for a late night swim because yes, he will indeed cleanse himself whilst the opportunity presents itself to him, all the better that no one else is around. the peace and quiet is much needed, and rarely given ..

" gods above. " a slight jump ensues at grier's sudden appearance. how long had she been standing there, watching him ? " do you get off on that ? " the words flow out of his mouth before he can even think of the meaning behind them. " i could have killed you. " could have, but didn't. she should be grateful for the staying of his hands.

The water was soothing against her skin, the grime of battle slowly sloughing off into the bath and coloring it all sorts of unpleasant browns and blacks. "I can wash myself on my own," she muttered, but put up no further fight as Grier scrubbed at the wounds on her back. She'd taken more than a few hits meant for other party members in their last outing past Last Light's lunar barrier, and it'd left Nan struggling to stay on her feet. "I'll be fine in a few hours. Just gotta take a nap or something, that's all."

But despite her protests, Nan found she couldn't quite keep up the argument forever -- especially when Grier's soft lips found the back of Nan's neck, sending a flash of heat to purple her grey cheeks. She never could quite say no to Grier for long, whether it was sparring, fooling around in a tent, or something as soft as this -- letting Grier tend to the worst of her wounds after a battle.

Just after sunset, they'd snuck out in search of some privacy. In the dark shadows near the back of Bloomridge Park, Nan had wasted no time stripping down and letting Grier take control. She let out a quiet moan as Grier trailed kisses down her muscled torso, sweat already beading on the surface, and clapped a hand over her mouth. Just because the city seemed dead this time of night, that didn't mean they had the world all to themselves, after all.

Elysia rolled her eyes, jaw clenching a moment before she forced it to relax. A smile spread over her face, one that didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Yeah, and talk about boys and tell each other bedtime stories!" She replied, matching Grier's mean girl tone. "You know, it's easy to be mean and self centered. It's harder to be kind. Perhaps you could try it sometime? You might even find you enjoy it."

"And yet we're all trapped in this nightmare together regardless," Ayla reminded Grier. They tilted their head towards the other half elf, studying her a moment.

"No matter how much we annoy you, you have to admit our survival is based in one another." At least, that was how Ayla saw it. Going this alone was probably suicide, at best. And a grisly death in a cult at worst. No, Ayla would stay right here, thanks.

blood, the very life force which keeps him tethered to this gods' forsaken realm. it's coy and simply endearing how his companions struggle with the very notion of his violent impulses. he is, who he is. and he is but a creature of habit, he thinks. one whom is very good at the crimes he commits when their eyes are lurking in other directions. when they crawl into their bedrolls. it's a wonder grier notices him, he accounts on behalf of how she had a streak of taking notice to minute details. he'd seen it along their travels, her catching wind of imperceivably small breadcrumbs along their journeys to unravel bigger pictures. sure, he could respect it. and sure, she sounds chipper enough to perhaps not cause a fuss within the camp at his less-than-put together appearance.
