There's just so much about it. People buy their tickets years in advance. It's massive in the pop culture music world, and featured in movies all the time. The scene in Bridget Jones' Baby where she attends a festival and runs into Ed Sheeran is based on Glastonbury (though they filmed it elsewhere and oddly didn't use footage from the times Ed really performed at Glasto- he headlined the Pyramid Stage in 2017! I'd thought it was at least his real footage used until I just looked it up).
It's been headlined by David Bowie, Van Morrison, UB40, The Smiths, Elvis Costello, The Cure, Sinead O'Connor, Lenny Kravitz, Radiohead, REM, Coldplay, Rod Stewart, Moby, Paul McCartney, The White Stripes, The Killers, Jay-Z, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Muse, U2, Stevie Wonder, Beyoncé, Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys, Mumford & Sons, Metallica, Florence and the Machine, Adele, and several other big names in music throughout time (some headlined several times). Taylor will again be in the company of other greats like Beyoncé and Adele (!!!!) as female headliners!!! This is incredible. She's going to make history (again)!
It's to many people a bigger deal than Coachella... it's the Woodstock of Britain... it's... oof how do I even? I mean @its-gonna-be-alriiight explained it well on my post. The biggest names play there, the biggest of big headline.... and for the anniversary!?! The absolute honor that is, and what it says to the world I mean... This is it, this is the superbowl of live music, it is iconic, epic, legend-wait for it-dary!!! I'M SO INCREDIBLY PROUD OF HER AND EXCITED BEYOND REASON! Hell yes @taylorswift !!!!
