Going from the response my friends gave me when I said why was 'sick' on remembrance day for 5 yrs in a row, it wouldn't go over well with anyone but it would be legal to not sing o canada you would just be hated.

It is awful, Quebec people don't, but every other province does(as far as I know) I was 8 when the school's cassette player broke so for one day we couldn't do 'O Canada' I said "Yes" and I got 23 death glares from my 8yr old classmates. They couldn't even write 'canada' and yet they knew to worship the flag.  At least its a song and not the american pledge b/c thats worse then the 'apostles creed' in the catholic church for children reciting things they do not understand.
