George Ewart Evans
George Ewart Evans was born into a Welsh-speaking family on the 1st of April 1909. One of eleven children Evans often helped in the family grocery business, taking deliveries around the village and surrounding area on a pony and trap.

Taken from a vantage point on Llanfabon the above image dates probably from the late 1940s or early 1950s.
In the foreground we can see a bus, probably from the local Imperial Motors Company, heading towards the junction and the Travellers Rest Inn. The fields either side of the bus were largely lost by the construction of the A470 a few decades later.
