Today is a mini-post about nostalgia. Let's remember how the people used to dress. The fashion of the 2000s was distinctive: low-cut jeans with protruding thongs, shiny tops, askew caps, hoodies with huge prints. The guys wore wide pants, as if they could hide an entire neighborhood there.

It’s a Matter Of Perspective.

Carvaggio came in to his own at the tail end of the Renaissance movement, and had a profound influence on the Baroque movement that came right after.  A lot of Art History people would say he’s one of the earliest Baroque painters, and in terms of his influence, they’d be right.  But since Carvaggio grew up with the work of and was influenced by his predecessors, he’s an artist of his time and therefore a Renaissance painter, from another entirely valid perspective.

He was an important transitive figure and his placement in the timeline depends on whether you count the period he came from or the period he inspired, and how your semester is laid out- Due to the postitioning of spring break, Carvaggio was taught as part of the Renaissance unit, and Baroque was after break.
