im getting real sidetracked here but i just started reading @all-pacas great post about house and chase and just had this thought i needed to rant about incoherently.
okay minor chase sidebar. the just. the insane, INSANE thing about s8 is how much it reveals about chase last minute. its honestly sort of upsetting to me lmao. I don't want another season for sure but. like, a part of me is really happy since chase is obviously my favourite character so getting more information on him is great. but its also like I kinda wish. yknow. it doesn't really go anywhere? part of me wishes we didn't get that information at all if only because knowing it is sort of,,, sad? a lot of the characters get their major issues addressed in some way - thirteen with her huntingtons, taub gets like 3 whole seasons dedicated to his cheating, and chase gets? what? we find out his parents were way more abusive than previously let on. we find out his mum used to lock him in his dads office, possibly even physically abuse him (based on my own interpetations). and nothing comes of it. sure, in s8 he gets his own growth regarding house and stuff but like. with his personal issues? his childhood? what about all that?
i believe that after season 8, house lived. i think its one of the things that makes sense for him post canon. i definitely dont think it would be easy for him, and i think he would struggle a LOT. but hed manage, and after a few years, hed fine a sense of comfort and routine somewhere. i think house killing himself after wilsons death would defeat the point of his sacrifice and make it lose its meaning. thats just my thoughts #mythoughts

its so crazy to me that season 8 isnt more popular with the chase fans. why does no one else go crazy over it. we get so much information and lore drops about chases childhood (locked in a study by his abusive mum). chase gets STABBED and nearly dies which is like, an angst goldmine, and i barely ever see a whisper of that. why do people only ever talk about cursed and the mistake, and also that clip of chase hugging house in half-wit. season 8 has MULTIPLE episodes of great chase content. what is going on. am i crazy for thinking this is crazy

it’s love them so much. there are so, so many issues with season 8 but weirdly i feel like that makes this group work well. theres this weird level of absurdity the group has and it fits so well with the weirdness of the season. i have a very deep unexplainable fondness for this group of fellows. theyre pretty random and have so many problems but just work so well together.
i will always love them and continue to spread that love to make everyone else love them too. they bounce off each other so well, theyre all slightly insane, but theres a sort of sincerity to the group too that i really enjoy. i miss them and wish them the best
