Ginny goes with Neville as friends, but they both sneak Luna in even though she wasn’t technically invited

Hermione went with Viktor Krum and spent the entire morning getting ready with Lavender Brown

The two girls didn’t get along very well, but, well, Lavender couldn’t turn her away when she looked so miserable

Hermione spelled their nails to change different colors and Lavender helped Hermione straighten her hair  

If it’s the start of a crush on both parts, well, neither of them say anything 

Ron went as Harry’s date because fuck heteronormativity and fuck this dance and neither of them want to be there but with each other it was bearable

Luna danced with Hagrid for half the night when she wasn’t stepping on Ginny and Nevile’s toes 

At the end of the night, Harry took McGonagal’s hand and they danced together

Harry remembered all the steps just right and McGonagal smiled fondly at this boy who was so good, the best of all his parents 

Ron and Hermione don’t fight so they all spend the night dancing and having fun together

Ron gets Viktor’s autograph and starts to form a crush when he realizes the seeker isn’t just an amazing flier, but he’s a really nice guy

Draco gets juice spilled all down his dress robes by Pansy after he insulted her girlfriend, Daphne  

Even though Cho went to the dance with Cedric, she spent most of the time with the Patil twins

Cedric and Cho were close friends which is why they both knew the other was gay

Cedric didn’t have enough nerve to ask another boy to the dance, not ready to be out

He doesn’t end the dance kissing a boy, but he does have a dance with Harry and it feels like the start of something 

In a perfect world it is, Cedric doesn’t die and Harry lets himself fall in love without regret 

Hermione falls in love with Lavender and even if they fight, they always kiss and makeup because there is more to their relationship than superficial differences 

Ron and Viktor start writing to each other, not quite together until they see each other again at Fleur and Bill’s wedding 

Cho Chang is happily in a polyamorous relationship with the Patil twins and they open a book store together
