These 49 people marched in silence for the duration of the Pride Parade to honor all 49 victims of the Orlando massacre. Their energy continues to push us to create reforms, to build stronger, more powerful communities that accept everyone. We have incredible, beautiful work to do. This piece has changed me in ways I don't understand yet. I've never been so moved when creating, ever. Have you ever hand written murder victims names down? It sounds dark I know but try it, by hand. It will change you for the better. Understand who they were, imagine their stories. Know that they had families and lovers and communities and lives. They were people just like you and me.
