I was stoked on having mid thigh ollies until I watched this. Now I want hip high ollies like Gilbert.

Top 10 Video Parts of 2011
1. Grant Taylor-Thrasher/Nike
Not much to say here that hasn't already been said. This dude seems like he came hot and fresh out of same Thrasher Factory that produced Chris Senn and Wade Speyer with two equally bruising video offerings in a matter of weeks. A great way to close out the year.
2. Torey Pudwill-Big Bang
Again with the Thrasher-produced part! This one is undeniable and everyone saw it already.
3. Nick Boserio-Life Splicing
Probably the best-edited, most creatively produced part of the year. And holy fuck does he have a death wish?!
4. Tyler Surrey-Sk8Mafia
It was hard to choose just one part from the Sk8Mafia video, probably the most consistently satisfying full-length of the year, but Tyler Surrey managed to make himself noticed by doing a lot of everything, and extremely well. Tyler stays loose.
5. Gilbert Crockett-Life Splicing
Judging by the awesomeness of AW's Life Splicing series, they should have just gotten a minute of footage from everyone on the team and and made a 15 banger. It would have been classic. What we got instead were a couple short spasms of raw, fast skating backup up by the classic Workshop presentation. I can't complain.
6. Ryan Sublette-Boyish
He's got a unique look, but the skating is so legit it never seems like a costume; just a natural extension of his self expression. Everything about this part is weird and beautiful.
7. Eli Reed-Real Street
How long are people gonna sleep on this dude? This straight to the point part, coming from an unlikely source (The X-Games), perfectly showcases what Eli Reed is capable of. The guy does the hardest tricks.Â
8. Enrique Lorenzo-Bits & Pieces
The comeback that no one noticed. Damn shame too, because he's 15 years in and at the top of his game.
9. Gou Miyagi-Subspecies
Not quite the follow up to Overground I was hoping for, but nonetheless, Gou demonstrates exactly how every time you say "skateboarding is an art", you're doing it wrong. Skateboarding as abstract expressionism.
10. Josh Hawkins-A Happy Medium 2
This part wasn't online, so here's a link to his "throwaway" footage from said video. Which, upon further viewing, could probably make this list on it's own merit. This jumping bean absolutely killed this year. Bonus: his Berrics part where I think he invents about 6 tricks in 30 seconds.
Gilbert rips. Gnarly switch flip at the end as well.
