eve is desperate to prove that she's capable and formidable despite other people's expectations, and so is gigi. gigi grins to prove to herself and others that she's fine and unbothered and eve tosses her hair for the same purpose. and what's crazy about those two parallels in particular is that they're not connections made by me in the peak of my delusion, no. they're parallels made by juliet gigi grayson in her pov narration. they're parallels deliberately highlighted to the reader by jennifer lynn barnes in the writing. she WANTS us to know they're similar. she WANTS us to notice. to PAY ATTENTION. okay? i am not crazy. i am not crazy. there is something happening here. there is something happening here.
