Just saw Olivia's complaint about the over-usage of filters in Popular Serizawa and it's something that I second because while nothing new it's getting ridiculous. It wasn't this bad before with just one or two shows with terrible color correction, but 2026 really saw an increase in that department:
All that I did was to correct the white balance, sharpened a bit and gave a spike to the vibrancy and boom.
Serizawa is the worst offender so far, but a lot of this year' shows had this awful hazy, colored tint to the shadows and highlights — in my review of Contrast I talked a little bit about that, how sometimes they go so crazy with it that it causes graininess and intense light glare in the video.
Life in Smokey Blue and Fake Fact Lips avoided that trap, and while not heinous as the others currently airing Moving Seats is threading very dangerous territory with a monotone color pallet and use of polarizer to achieve it.
