Avoid everyone. That had somehow become Dawn’s mantra the last few days. Spending time with her friends was rare at this point, all she was doing was attending her classes and going to practice. She was barely even at number five anymore, not since the night of Hollie’s party when she’s slipped out to Rod’s and hadn’t returned. She couldn’t handle being there anymore, not until she was better. She couldn’t risk it. If she did need to leave, she went elsewhere. Which is what found her doing her food shopping in Puddlemere. She didn’t think anyone she knew lived in Puddlemere, so it was safe. In and out, get what she needed and go home. She was just about to enter the fruit and veg shop when she heard a familiar voice yell her name, her heart sinking as she turned to spot her favourite two year old running over to wrap his arms around her legs.Â
“Freddie. Hey sweetie.” She looked back up, almost dreading facing Hollie and having to answer any questions about why she was avoiding her best friend, avoiding all her friends, when she felt relief flood through her at the sight of Gideon. Gideon she could easily brush off, offering him a weak smile hello before giving her attention back to Freddie and the story he was babbling on about.
