Have you ever seen a REAL EMMY Award Statue? (This was the VERY FIRST EMMY ever awarded for the Catgory, "Best Supporting Actress".) Vivian Vance was an American television and theater actress and singer best known for her role as Ethel Mertz, sidekick to Lucille Ball on the American television sitcom "I Love Lucy", and as Vivian Bagley on "The Lucy Show". Everyone loved Vivian - and she loved the Albuquerque Little Theater... Vivian passed away in 1979, but perhaps she still visits from time to time?
You always hear about the "Green Rooms" on television productions. But have you ever seen one? At the Albuquerque Little Theatre cast and crew have signed the walls... oh if these walls could talk.... Actually, they just might!!!

If you’re interested in local history, wanna meet some of the residents of Little Tokyo, and get to hear a few fun ghost stories from the people who live and work there, the Haunted Ghosts of Little Tokyo Walking Tour in Los Angeles, CA is the place. The tour is 100% family friendly, only takes about an hour, and covers just one block of little Tokyo, so it’s perfect for those who don’t want to walk a lot. Led by the Little Tokyo Historical Society (LTHS) you can tell that this is an event they look forward to, and it’s clear that as a community they want to make it as fun, interesting, and informative as they can.
We heard a few entertaining ghost stories, and learned quite a bit about the history of Little Tokyo. The tour started at the Union Center for the Arts. John Carpenter's 1987 cult classic, Prince of Darkness, was filmed at the Japanese Union Church, whose Colonial architecture now houses the Union Center for the Arts and hosts performances by Asian-American theater company East West Players. It’s a beautiful building, with its share of haunted stories, but the most popular is about the church caretaker, who apparently decided to stay on after the church closed, and has been seen wandering the property ever since. We also visited a building that has housed many businesses over the years, but started as a blacksmith shop and is still owned by the same family that built it. Their most popular ghost story is about a woman they call “La Senorita” who has been seen by residents and workers for as long as anyone can remember. There were dozens of other stories that were fun to hear, unfortunately it only happens once a year, so if you’re interested you’ll have to wait till 2019 to check it out.
However, if you still want to get in on the halloween fun, the Haunted Night in Little Tokyo: The Block Party is a one night Halloween extravaganza with music, food, and entertainment! Bewitch the crowd with your very best getup for a chance to win the costume contest, and grab a bone-chilling drink from the beer garden. Feed you inner monster with bites from Buttery Popcorn Co., Baldoria DTLA,and Fluff Ice Truck, and discover magical and mischievous finds from Aniplex and Anime Jungle.
