god, i get SO PISSED when people try to say that "if it's not okay to whitewash people, then it shouldn't be okay to racebend these others", like, get out of my face with that, i don't want to hear it
this post actually sums up all of my feelings on this topic
and then it's worse when you see the media do it. like, the producers, the directors, have that source material right there when they are adapting something to the screen, telling them that this and that character is a POC, and then they decide "nah, let's make 'em white". then some roleplayers, fanfiction writers, artists, have the source material RIGHT THERE. and then they decide "nah, let's make 'em white".
this just gets me so heated.
