firm believer that every spider-person must have one borderline homoerotic relationship with their close friend

Mask-off, no nuance hater moment.
No cause like…why do you like Spider-Verse Gwen Stacy? I’m not saying you can’t, (and please recall the aforementioned warning of no nuance), I just sincerely don’t get it
In the first movie she’s nothing more than the Cool Girl™ character, and in the second she has underbaked trauma that doesn’t even make sense when you really think about it, and she’s just a consistently bad friend to Miles while also claiming to have this super close deep special bond with him even though she’s only actually known him in reality for a couple of days which was over a year ago!!
Truthishly to me? She’s just another mediocre white character who has a legion of fans ready to defend her mediocrity and whiteness, even if they don’t realize that’s what they’re doing. (But also probably some do cause there are some racist ass Gwen Stacy stans out there) Not to mention the movie makers who are writing her so poorly and obviously continuing to push her as one of the main characters and the possible “love interest”
