Derek having heard of the wild hunt in BH, and having this feeling he forgot something. Him returning to BH to help them. He helps with what he can. But something goes wrong (it always does). He was supposed to stay with the kid in case something happened. And it did. The kid got taken. And he saw them. For just a moment. Just a second. He calls Scott, and Scott doesn't seem to understand anything he's saying, asks who's talking. And Derek, in that moment, believes he's wrong, he has to be. So he calls Stiles, doesn't get an answer. Calls Lydia, and she doesn't remember. He rushes. Tries to find Stiles. Stiles would remember him. Stiles would believe him.

He finds him at the parking school. Calls his name. And Stiles just, he just asked what Derek is doing there. He wants to cry. He explains. And then, he freezes. He hears them. They're close. They're here. He's never been more terrified. It must be showing, because Stiles asks him what's wrong. Derek, for a second, doesn't answers. He just, stays there. After another second, and god, he doesn't have a lot of them, silently tells him. "They're here for me". He wants to continue, but Stiles doesn't let him. Tells Derek they need to run, need to take him away from there, from them, that he needs to save him, tries to make Derek move, make him run. But Derek doesn't allow him. He hears them closer now. And suddenly, he's not afraid anymore. He accepts it. He yells Stiles to Stop. He talks to him. He needs to explain. Needs him to understand. "You can't stop it. You're gonna forget me, and it's ok. It's not your fault." "I won't forget you" "but you will. And there will be nothing to remember me. You won't. And I know you're gonna fix it, because I trust you guys, I trust you" Stiles is gripping his arms, keeps saying that he's wrong, that he'll remember him, that he'll help him. Derek just looks at him. There's a chance he's never gonna see this face, realizes. That he'll never get another chance to look in his eyes. And he knows, even before now, he never had a chance with him, but fuck it, it's not like anyone than him will remember this. So for the first, he takes something that he wanted. He takes Stiles's face in his hands, caresses it. Stiles is crying now, and he looks so confused, and so terrified. Derek kisses him. For a second, it feels like everything stops. When it ends, it rests his forehead against stiles's. Look at him for one last time. He's beautiful. He's ready now, he could die like this. "Goodbye"

They take him.

He ends up in a train station? Or, at least, it's waiting room. He finds his uncle. That's what he forgot before. He doesn't know what to feel about that. He wakes peter from the weird spell he's under. Tries to get information. Tries to go back. The pack need help, all the help they can get. He need to go back. To protect them. Him and peter, they try to find a way. They fight. Peter yells at him. "Don't you get it? We don't exist... And we are already forgotten. No one is gonna remember you." "I know." And Derek knows. He knows, that's why he was so terrified.

He knows, logically, that they'll find something, a relic. But he can't help but think it won't be like this for him. Because since he was sixteen, his entire life fits in a bag. He can't help but think that, to be remembered, to truly be remembered, they need to love you, and he's pretty sure no one does. Sure, the pack cares, and they would save him, but that's because they're good. They always try to save everyone.

So he knows, what peter said. No one is gonna remember him. No one will really know the difference. "But it doesn't matter, I still need to go back. They need help."

Stiles is panicking. They need to go, he can't let them take him, can't let have Derek. And he tries, tries so hard to make him walk, but the bastards won't let him. He's fucking terrified and he hates it. Hates seeing him like this too. Last time Derek looked like that, boys just...

And then, something changes. There's something wrong. Derek's face do something horrible. He looks so young like this. He's smiling. He looks... resigned. He gave up. Derek never gives up. Why would he give up now? And then Derek is talking. But it's like he can't hear a fucking word. All of this is so confusing. He doesn't understand. He knows he's mumbling, that he's saying something, but it's like his body is doing on it's own. It feels like he's just watching all of it happen from outside, just a spectator of his own life. And then, something unexpected. Something soft on his lips. Derek is kissing him. And then he's not, and he's saying goodbye. And then...
