I was working on my Headcanon collection for Spectra and I think this one deserves its own post.
You know how it’s generally accepted in the fandom that ghosts have auras?
What if Spectra’s aura makes you trust her more?
You come near Spectra and you feel safer, like everything she says is true, regardless of what you hear. You want to believe her when she tells you something. You want to trust her and confide in her because her aura constantly makes her seem safe and trustworthy. Her voice has a similar effect.
And then, when that aura is no longer effecting you as much, you start noticing things about Spectra. The teeth that are just a bit too long and sharp. The fingers that seem just a bit too long. The fact that her shadow twists and warps on the wall behind her in ways that the lighting shouldn’t allow. The eyes that have a slight glow to them. The warm, inviting smile suddenly seeming more predatory, like an animal watching injured prey, and did she just blink sideways?
And yet, despite all that, you still want to trust her and confide in her and believe her when she tells you that what you’re seeing right now isn’t real because she’s Spectra, she’s trustworthy, kind and safe and you were probably just seeing things just now, right?
