gif by @ghibligif ( ghibligif.tumblr.com ) Hello!!! I’m trying to conduct a research project! On how much fans of Studio Ghibli and/or Hayao Miyazaki are influenced by their messages, ideals, and/or visuals in their day-to-day lives.

I feel that I don’t have enough information to continue with this lens… so if anyone could respond or just indicate some sort of interest, spread this around… I could maybe eventually make a survey of some sort for people to take!

Do you know what I mean? Like, whether watching Princess Mononoke made you care about the environment* more. Or maybe My Neighbor Totoro made you value your childhood, or rural landscapes, or your mother more. Maybe Grave of the Fireflies made you realize how horrible it is to be a victim of war. Maybe Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind opened your eyes to the destruction of pollution*. Maybe your ideal vision of love is like Howl and Sophie’s! Maybe you just love the slow pace of Ghibli characters’ lives and have come to appreciate the intrinsic value of the work around you… seeing the beauty in the mundane*. Maybe the delicious-looking food inspired you to cook more!
