Goodday, I have a question abt your ocs Ghawa and Atla.
First i want to know wich is wich, i dunno if Ghawa is the moth or the scolopendra.
And can we have crumbs of their relationship dinamic please π₯Ί? Or how they met? (Ofc if that doesnt expose too much of the story you are planning)
As always, thank you for your time and being huge inspirations as another furry bug lover
Hii!! Thanks a lot of asking ^^
In short summary, I charaterise their relationships as a "Unexpected summer romance full of exploration" :)
Ghawa is the moth! She's based on lime hawk moth and oleander hawk moth. She's kind of a monster hunter kind of deal. Many bug settlements have buros that basically deal with dangerous beasts and pests of magical origin, cause there's metric ton of weird shit all around.
Well, at some point, a creature popped up in the forest near the province Ghawas buro opetates at, and gave local farmers a good scare. It was somewhat unusual in it's behavior, and really peaksled our moth huntresses' attention. She got a warrant for this gig and was on her way to capture the peculiar beast.
So, Atla was actually the beast Ghawa was hunting! But as you may have guessed, things didn't quite go that way π
On a side note, what is considered a "beast" is an extremely relative term, different beings throughout the lands have different relationships with other critters and mystical entities.
As have you noted, Atla is a centipede (scolopendra, specifically, yes), and they have established nomadic communities of their own on the far south of the place where the plot takes place. With communication and cultural exchange being sparce, there's definitely speciest tention present. That said, Atla is actually a very atypical member of her tribe, for many reasons. Centipedes are highly communal, not only is it not common for one to be so far from her homeland, it's even stranger that she lives seemingly, completely asocially in a forest. There're reasons for that, but I would go in there're yet :)
Ghawa is a skilled stalker and Loves her job. It was a matter of time before the two would meet.
It was not, however, in Ghawa's plans to encounter an entirely sapient and quite well versed being, while also, still, remarkably alien and beastly. In the confusion of the commotion, moths prey escaped, leaving her wondering.
One thing you should is that Ghawa is a fucking freak. That incident sent her to a total obsession mode of unfiltered personal curiosity. You can probably intuit what ensures from that :)
I would definitely love to delw more into their dynamic and Atlas' entire deal, but I think this post is long enough already, so I'll return to that a bit later~
I'll also be tagging these with #bugland from now on, and go back to tag similar stuff to this from before (there's not very much yet) to refer to later if questions get repeated ππ
upd: #bugland trivia for lore and asks specifically, and #bugland just the tag of the setting

Ghwaπ
Arabic coffee: 1 cup (8 oz) water 1 tablespoon lightly roasted coffee 1 tablespoon crushed cardamom 4-5 saffron threads (opt) 1/2 teaspoon rose water *The ground coffee is added with the cardamom and saffron to boiling water for 3 minutes. The rose water is added and then the coffee is served in small rounded cups without handles. Note: the coffee of some regions has 1/4 tsp ground ginger or a little cinnamon added with the boiling water. OR 2 glasses of water 2 tablespoons Arabic coffee beans, roasted and ground 1 teaspoon powdered Cardamom 5 pieces of cloves *Boil the water, coffee, 1/2 spoon of cardamom and cloves together for 20 minutes Put 1/2 spoon of cardamom in the thermos with a little bit of saffron Then, pour the coffee into the thermos I have to staple teas that are always in my home. One is Kuwaiti style and the other Yemeni. Please remember when steeping black tea never do so over 5 minutes or your tea will be ruined also always use cold water before boiling to get the best cup of tea! Leaves are also better then any cheap bag tea. Yemeni tea: Lipton yellow label or any other black tea is good, green cardamom pods. Add cardamoms to water and boil then steep tea The only difference in the Kuwaiti tea is that you use saffron threads instead of cardamoms. I love to use yannun black tea leaves mixed with saffron threads; it produces the best cup of tea as far as I am concerned.
