I love how the wide leaps in the #bass line accentuate the jumping athleticism of this movement! The #jig originated in the British Isles/Ireland, and imported into France in the mid 17th century. It is commonly used as the last movement of a #baroque #sonata or instrumental suite. I will be performing the bass line of the entire sonata in a free internet concert with #violin and harpsichord this Saturday.
