"Back on Coruscant at last" Anakin smiled as he walked into Rex's room. "How's my favorite Captain, Rex?" He had a goofy grin, one Rex knew meant chaos.

"...Sir?" Rex put down his helmet and stiffened to attention. Only to be met with a slap on the back. "Sir!-" Rex choked as he tripped forward. He caught himself then turned to Anakin with a grumpy glare.

"Sorry Rexy, I just-"

"Don't call me that-"

"-am really happy right now. The end of the war is here, I can sense it." Anakin walked around, chest puffed out and robe perfectly placed, "By the end of this week, I will be a new man."

Rex rolled his eyes and slumped into his chair, resting his face in his hand, he tried to figure out why Anakin was acting like this, his eyes sparked with realization. "You saw Padme-" Rex started to smile slowly, "You saw Padme."

Anakin's eyes lit up, "Rex!" He grinned, "Rex what do you know?!" He laughed as he pulled his captain up. "What do you know, buddy?"

Rex laughed, Anakin was so giddy, there's no way it wasn't this, "I know Padme's leaving for Naboo in two days and that you have an event happening three days from now." Rex teased as Anakin's excitement grew.

"You know about the babies?!" Anakin jumped in excitement.

"Oh I know about the babies!" They jumped and laughed with each other. Anakin pull Rex into a hug and all he could do was laugh. They held each other in excitement, and maybe Anakin started to cry.

"Rex," Anakin had never been this happy. He was about to be a father. "I'm so excited! We're gonna go to Naboo, Padme's gonna give birth, I'm gonna cry, I'm gonna change a diaper, I'm gonna never sleep again, and they're gonna cry all the time and Padme and I are gonna be exhausted and... I can't wait-" He rambled.

Rex smiled, he couldn't wait for the babies either. He was gonna play hide and seek with them, take them to target practice, and other activities infants participate in. "By the end of the week Rex, I'm gonna be a Dad-" Anakin was determined to do right. He was going to leave the order, retire to Naboo and love Padme and their children. He was going to support his family, he was going to bring Ahsoka home, bring Rex too. He was going to have his family and everything would be perfect.

"At the end of this week." Rex laughed, as giddy as Anakin. "I can't wait Anakin." By the end of week, everything would be different.

Nothing would be the same...
