#getting along

Sirius wraps a hand around his shoulders and kisses Regulus' cheek despite his brother's annoyance

"siri?" Regulus sounds smaller than before

Sirius immediately wips his head around "what ipetite étoilete?"

"what are we gonna do with our things? I can't really-" Regulus cuts himself off and points at himself

"don't worry about that. Let's go find the flat first, yeah? Don't tell me you aren't at least a bit excited"

"no I'm not. I couldn't even eat breakfast because of my nerves. But i guess it's a good thing bee lives just upstairs"

Sirius leaves at that and leads them inside. Although it's not his nature to be quiet, he has gotten used to it for regulus.

"oh- OH" the lift is out.

After a quick conversation between a worried sirius and a stubborn Regulus they take the stairs all the way to the second floor.

By the end Regulus regrets not wearing his knee braces and leans slightly against sirius, hoping the other wouldn't notice

Sirius threads his fingers though Regulus' hair, carefully working out the knots. "How about you rest? Maybe take a nap? Yeah, buddy?" Sirius asks gently while keading inside the flat.

It's rather small but they're only two people and still young so it's fine. The flat consists of a bedroom that's not really separate from the sitting room but the bed is quite spacious. There is also a kitchen and a bathroom that's on the bigger side plus another bedroom. Well, not really. It was a small office but they stuffed a twin sized bed in it. It'll have to do for now.

"I'm not a baby!" Regulus exclaims but melts into sirius touch nonetheless

Sirius pushes regulus onto the bed "rest up buddy. Gonna go pick up our stuff from the car"

Regulus throws a pillow at sirius just as he turns to leave "you bitch. Stop treating me like I'm gonna collapse at any given moment"

Then a realisation hits him "wait, did you just say you're gonna pick /our/ things? That's a lot…"

"it's fine Reggie"

"no, no, I'll feel bad. I can help. Okay, maybe not, but i don't want you to do all the work"

Sirius ends up making multiple trips since there were a lot of things. Around the second one he meets barty on the staircase.

Barty for his part looks sirius up and down with a raised eyebrow. Sirius kinda looks like shit. His hair are put down and sticking in all directions and there's sweat down his forehead. Sirius' has his hands full of packages

"oh, you're finally here" barty says, excitement written across his face and turns on his heels, practically running back up the stairs presumably to find regulus

"seriously now?"

"what?" Sirius can tell by his voice that barty feels like being a little shit today

"not even gonna help me a bit?" Sirius exclaims exasperated, clearly not pleased with the situation

"no. Reggie's more important" and like that, Barty's gone up the stairs

When sirius finally gets all their stuff, he finds Regulus cocooned in blankets and tucked away in Barty's arms, regulus' knees propped up with pillows. There's a mug of steaming hot tea on the bedside table. And Regulus was shooting barty a cold glare.
