Zaya: The multi-shipper in me finds myself being disappointed that Zoemund wasn't given a fair shot but then I remember that Zoë was the one who pushed Zig away in 1412. At least I’m glad that we didn’t have to sit through a genuine shot of a Zoemund relationship only to have Zig bail out once Maya realizes that she was in love with him (which we expected). 

Everything with Zaya seems to be going quickly but zigmundmaya points out that in theory, two weeks were supposed to pass between Maya's "Oh crap…" revelation and the kiss (at least from our perception as viewers), not two days. And after all they have been dancing around metaphorically around each other since Season 11. This is exactly what Stohn was talking about when he said that the writers need to change their storytelling style to cater to the binge watchers. Lines such as Imogen reminding us that she and Jack have broken up are no longer necessary. Now that Zaya is happening, I’m really excited for the ride. I thought we’d have to wait until they were seniors!! 

I'm really happy for them. I'm enjoying their kisses way more than I enjoyed the Matlingsworth kisses. Maya would pretty much always pull Miles down by the back of his neck (see for yourself). And I feel she could be more real with Zig. She was always throwing veiled references of Cam in Miles' face whereas with Zig she can actually say his name. 

“I don’t know, Zig... I think I might love you.” So is this an actual love confession? It’s not as dubious as “I could fall in love with you” but isn’t it a bit on the anti-climactic side? Zig’s “Because I might love you too” seemed more straight to the point. What I really love is the respect that Zig has towards Mrs. Matlin. His smile at the end of that scene was perfect. At least she tells her mother flat out that she loves Zig so that addresses any ambiguity. 

I previously said that I wanted Zig to move out before anything can happen. I’m glad that it’s going to be like that, but it opens the door for trouble. Side note, I think it’s great that Zig still has his job at the restaurant and is still in touch with Jose. I really appreciate the callbacks to previous seasons. It makes the show more organic and it answers all of the right questions. 

Even Ricardo couldn’t say “what could possibly go wrong?” and keep a straight face.

Eclare: I was all in with Eclare since the Shark in the Water music video. I'm glad that Eli pined over Clare and vice versa when they split apart (which is pretty much what I want to see for Triles but 14B is not delivering yet). They were a wonderful couple in Season 12. Clare had her internship thing and Eli had his musical so they were busy with other things instead of destroying their relationship. It went downhill when Eli cheated with Lenore. And the Sparks Will Fly break up was harsh. Thunderstruck gave me hope and then 14A snatched that away with the "whore” comment being the pinnacle. But the writers still managed to win us over and just in time. Clare needed Eli more than ever just as much as Eli needed Clare. 

I’ve noticed characters wearing their photoshoot outfits through out the course of Season 14 (Frankie, Jack, Imogen, Lola…) but I like the fact that they brought back Clare’s outfit for the music video. Anyone else had a kick of Clare singing in the car? What callback to Season 10 might that be, germaican? And they crossed the boarder? Without passports??? Nice catch, misplacedangeleno. The scene where they pulled over and mourned their son was heartbreaking. I thought it was interesting how the promos used the scenes of Eclare in the car and of the framed sonogram to make it seem that the baby was still in their lives. 

Huntlene: So here’s the storyline that Spencer teased back in February!! Huntlene was so precious. It truly is exactly what it's supposed to be at that age. Awkward. Confusing. Sweet. Low-self esteem. Friendship winning out in the end because relationships are weird and tough to understand. pandorargyneis, my head canon of Hunter being specifically into manga came true!! It wasn’t that much of a leap considering his comic art from 14A, but I would have never of guessed he had a strong aversion to American comics.

The flowers could have really backfired. People like Arlene would rather slink in the shadows than be in the centre of attention. Receiving those flowers could have easily opened to door to even more teasing but I’m thankful the show didn’t go in that direction even if she did get hurt. I’m glad they made up in the end. 

It’s really hard not to get invested in them, but...

Possible spoiler -->  Sigh, I wonder if they'll bother to give an excuse when there's no more Arlene in Season 15 like they did with Tori moving away or if they’ll find a way to boot out Hunter’s new best friend like how they did with Jack. Probably the former since the writers couldn’t have expected Devyn to land the lead of Family Channel’s new show Backstage. 

Tristan: I adore him way too much not to mention him. I always get excited when I see Lyle’s name in the credits. I loved how he intuitively knew that Zig and Maya were crazy about each other. Remember in Season 13 when he told Miles that Zig was Maya’s ex after Miles asked? Ah, such a long time ago. I love his suggestion about writing an online diary. Another nod to Tumblr, haha.
