Both George and Domon try and fail to completely reject someone they thought has wronged them: Raymond and Kyoji. Both of them are driven to berserk rage by seeing someone they care about harmed. And going into the future, both wind up learning/realizing their anger was misplaced, and that sticking with it would've had them do shit they'd definitely regret. Specifically with George we get an escalating scale to emphasize that. He's ashamed of how much damage he did when possessed by the devil gundam, horrified by the carnage he causes by accident at Marseilles, but in all of his anger here he's willing and fucking ready to kill Mirabeau in cold blood.

The fun split here is that Domon is able to recognize this watching from the outside. But he can't stop George, it takes the same person who caused the rage to break through it with Raymond. Again, similar to Domon getting an explanation from Schwartz/Kyoji before the show's final arc.

Schwartz must find it VERY interesting watching all of this from afar.

Another realization I had is that George isn't really the one healing the dg cells. People always take some issue with him being able to do something the previous Shuffle Alliance folks had to DIE to do, and that's completely understandable!

But he's not the one saying he'll save Mirabeau, he's not even really putting any of his energy into it. He says "if I'm worthy of this crest, please heal this man," and even if it isn't posed as a question, he is asking one! And then mystical Shuffle Spirit or something like that gives him an answer, and the dg cells are healed!

George was asking if he was still a good person after all of the damage he'd done, if was still a knight after losing himself so badly, and something way beyond his ken said "Yes" and gave him the miracle he asked for. I'm not going to split hairs over the dg cell trauma and how easily the guys get over it, but I sure as hell think that something as nearly divine as this happening would be a MAJOR comfort.

On a more minor note, "don't push away people who care about you" is sort of a moral of this ep. And we've seen Domon doing that in small bits with Rain throughout the series so far. Sadly he doesn't seem to remember this lesson very well later down the line.

I wanted to get all of my big thoughts on this ep down before listening to Mobile Suit Breakdown's coverage of it. Not that MSB is bad or anything (quite the opposite!), but because I wanted to get my take in without any outside influence. But now I'm free to listen and enjoy that!
