When they announced a sixth Terminator movie, a part of me wanted it to fail. Not for the plot or the premise (those seemed good), but because, then, we could have seen something that, to me, is just so funny.

You see, when Terminator Salvation and Terminator Genisys were released, the intention was that these movies were going to launch their own trilogy, as a continuation of the franchise. Since both of them flopped, those trilogies never happened.

As a result, Terminator Dark Fate tried once again. And, then, the movie bombed as well, halting plans for a continuation once again.

In short, this franchise now has an entire trilogy made of failed trilogies. And that is something so funny, especially because it shows how much this franchise hasn’t been able to stand on its feet and release something great and praised in 30 years, if we include Terminator 3 in the mix.
