Is seeing how most people within them, who are almost in their 30s and 40s. Behave/act wayyyyyyyyyy younger than me, both emotionally and socially lol.

I guess that is the weirdest thing about today’s world. We are not experiencing our own world war, or biggest national crisis yet that will unite and mature us faster than how we already do so naturally as we age. Most of our experience and memories of total war and world affecting disasters or political matters come from this entertainment nowadays... (Well at least until the threat of nuclear war and climate change finally becomes so bad we are forced to drop all our leisure and trivial concerns to collectively combat it.) Oh wait that is already happening with the younger generations who are picking up the slack and confronting those bastard politicians and corporations head on, hashtag support Greta Thunberg!

Back during WW2, most people aged 18, 19 to 20 were most likely running around Europe, Africa and other countries shooting at Nazis with shells exploding all around them... They had to soldier through that and come to terms with the experience of immense human cruelty, warfare, emotional trauma and then later the cold war and civil rights during the 60s. While in the present we today play the exaggerated virtual equivalents or recreations that are inspired by this history in “escapist” entertainment.

We worry about whether or not our favourite character is going to live, or whether or not we are going to stop the Covenant, Empire, Enclave, Locust or Reapers in the next big video game...
